Top 10 Vanilla Mage PvP Movies of All Time 🔥

While waiting for World of Warcraft Classic, what would be a better way to spend time than to watch some of the old PvP videos. This is a list of my favorite Vanilla Mage PvP Movies of all time. Many thanks to those who have reuploaded these classics!

Disclaimer: There are many undead male mages with rank 10 sets and engineering.
2nd Disclaimer: These videos are not in a particular order.

1. Zachary 8

Great PvP movie by the Chinese mage Zachary. This video really has it all, great editing combined with good music and awesome clips.

Blinded Colony – My Halo
Rise Against – Behind Closed Doors
Pain – Bye/Die
Papa Roach – She Loves Me Not
Blinded Colony – Bedtime Prayers
Element Eighty – Broken Promises

2. Vicious Mage Clazzi

Rank 14 Mage from the Korean server Kul’Tiras. I remember this being one of the first videos I saw which really made me consider rolling a mage.

Mr Big – Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy
The Killers – Mr. Brightside
Sum 41 – I’m Not The One
Within Temptation – Forsaken
Avenged Sevenfold – Bat Country
Muse – Cave
The Black Eyed Peas – Pump It
In Flames – Brus the Dust Away

3. Gegon – New Ability Mage PvP

A true classic by the French mage Gegon. This video demonstrates some of the mage tricks which were unheard of back in the days, such as the “Vanishing Blink”.

E.S. Posthumus – Nara (Theme to Cold Case)
DJ Shadow – Organ Donor
Nightcloud – Track 10
Muse – Knights of Cydonia

4. Srwhill (Sorrow Hill) Otherguy PvP

Now, this is an old-school video, made by the American mage Otherguy. Skillwise this video might not be that good as the others, however, this was one of the first proper Vanilla Mage PvP videos uploaded to Warcraftmovies.com.

Thrice – See You In The Shallows
Gold Finger – Superman
Guano Apes – Open Your Eyes
Thrice – Stare at the Sun

5. Gameking 4

My favorite mage of all time. Most people know Gameking from his videos in the later expansions as the Chinese videos were hard to find during Vanilla. In my opinion, Gameking was truly ahead of his time.

Mucc – Saishuuressha
My Chemical Romance – Helena (So Long & Goodnight)
My Chemical Romance – I’m Not Okay (I Promise)
Soilwork – Overload
Bic Runga – Sway

6. Vurtne 3 – 60 Elemental Mage PvP

What would a Vanilla PvP video listing be without Vurtne? I could possibly list all of his videos here, but as most have seen them all I’m only going to include my personal favorite. His 3rd movie really made the Elemental PvP Spec famous. Excessive Engineering use, possibly the most legendary PvP soundtrack of all time, and some extremely funny clips – this PvP video has it all.

Pain – Not Afraid to Die
Fireball Ministry – Daughter of the Damned
Atreyu – Ex’s and Oh’s
Atreyu – Untitled Finale
Village People – Go West
Haddaway – What Is Love
Village People – Macho Man
Kovenant – Mirrors Paradise
Jimmy Eat World – Pain
Goldfinger  – Superman
Papa Roach – Take Me
Soilwork – Stabbing the Drama
Atreyu – Creature
Atreyu – The Theft

7. Unknown II by Pathologist

The Unknown series were one of the first videos released by the Swedish superstar Pathologist. This video includes the infamous PoM Pyro spec and a very different style of editing. Later on, he did some editing work for some of the most legendary PvPers of all time, such as Drakedog.

Pathologist made most of the music for his videos himself, under the alias dyF 1.6.

8. Albis – Honest Expression

PoM Frost PvP video by Albis from the Darkspear US, home for the many famous Vanilla PvPers such as Swifty, Chipman, and Takuu.

Immediate Music – Liberation!
Immediate Music – Redrum 3 NC
A Perfect Circle – Let’s Have A War
Jem – 24
The Prodigy – Voodoo People (Pendulum Mix)
Immediate Action – Beneath Au
Crossbreed – Severed
Binary Star – Honest Expression
Crossbreed – Severed

9. Sarrotti 4

Another classic with good 1vX scenes, recorded during the patch 2.0. It’s a shame that Sarrotti quit the game when TBC came out – would have wanted to see more of him.

My Chemical Romance – This Is How I Disappear
My Chemical Romance – The Sharpest Lives
Millencolin – Afghan
Hoobastank – Just One
Zebrahead – Rescue Me
Rodrigo Y Gabriela – Tamacun
12 Stones – Broken

10. Wedding 4

Yes, a vanilla private server video. However, I think there are two valid reasons why to list this one:

  1. You can really see how much better people can play nowadays compared to retail vanilla times.
  2. I personally improved my mage gameplay a lot when playing with/against Wedding. I consider him to be one of the very top mages in the patch 1.12.1.

Ill Nino – Unframed
Soilwork – Cranking the Sirens
TRUSTcompany – Stronger
Hoobastank – Never There
Decyfer Down – Fight Like This

Bonus: My own PvP Movie

My own attempt of creating a Vanilla Mage PvP video. Enjoy!

Darren Styles – Dropzone (Bonkers Mix)
E Nomine – Vater Unser
Muse – Showbiz
